Protein/Peptide Analysis

A typical proteomic experiment can generate in excess of 2 million spectra. The task of identifying and quantifying peptides, and infering protein identifications and quantification is an essential part of the work-flow, and a significant computational task.

 

We use a combination of proprietry and in-house software to process our proteomic experiment data. For quantification experiments further analysis is performed to determine significantly changing proteins/peptides and to bring together the results from repeat runs.

Peptide identification

Following digestion and fractionation, the identity of peptides from a sample cannot be distinguished in a mass spectrometer. Peptides are fragmented in a technique known as tandem (or MS2) mass spectrometry
